Through physical education, we want our children to develop an array of skills from physical to social. To do this, each half term focuses on different learning intentions based on personal, social, cognitive, creative or physical skills. Working alongside these, we also focus on two of the twelve fundamental movement skills, refining them throughout their primary education.
High-quality PE is essential as it supports children’s enjoyment of physical activity and commitment to a healthy active lifestyle. We follow the ‘Real PE’ and ‘Real Gym’ schemes which supports all requirements of the National curriculum while developing the child’s understanding of being active and healthy.
In addition to ‘Real PE’, we have sports coaching with Sports Plus for years 4 to 6 which focuses on using their refined skills in sports such as football, basketball, athletics and many more.
