Year 2 is the final year that your child will spend in KS1. Our focus, as always, continues to be on the development of your child as an all-round learner. In the core subjects of Reading, Writing and Maths, children continue to develop their skills and understanding, underpinned with the core basics that they will have learnt throughout the Early Years and Year 1. Towards the end of Year 2, children will carry out an end of key stage assessment, and support will be put in place to ensure that the transition to Year 3 is as seamless as possible. Throughout Year 2, children will experience and enjoy a range of topics such as learning about The Great Fire of London and becoming chefs, making their own pizzas in the process! These topics will be supplemented with several educational visits and experiences that will further support your child’s development.
