In Reception, your child continues to develop their skills both socially and physically, along with experiencing opportunities for them to have a better understanding of the world around them.  Throughout Reception, children continue to follow the Development Matters curriculum where they enjoy a range of learning opportunities that will help them make progress towards their Early Learning Goals.  At the start of the year, we carry out the Statutory Reception Baseline.  This informs what provision is needed to ensure that your child is best supported, and their learning needs are met.  Children within Reception have opportunities to learn in the outdoor area, they have opportunities to explore the mud kitchen, climbing frames and to ride bikes and scooters.  Parent workshops are run throughout the year so you can get involved with your child’s learning too!
